In November 2003, our lives changed when my son
three-year-old son, Toby, was diagnosed with EE.

It had taken months before the doctors could make the
final diagnosis.  Before he had been diagnosed they had
thought he swallowed something that had lodged in his
throat.  Unfortunately, that was not the case.

When we learned that Toby's condition was EE, I felt
alone and nowhere to turn for information, support or
answers.  The doctors had little information to offer, and
there is not a lot of information available.  Finding
support was few and far between.

To date, Toby has had seven endoscopies and he also
was diagnosed with EC, which in turn means it's in his
colon or large intestine.  He has always suffered from
abdominal pain, vomiting, choking, sore throats,
constipation, and high fevers that could not be explained.

At the beginning, I felt that they were using Toby for
research reasons and that's what was going on.  They
had the diagnosis, now all they needed was the cure. In
January of 2006 after my sons seventh endoscopy I
wanted to do something to help. That is when I meet
Ellyn the president of C.U.R.E.D, she was great and we
spoke many times on opening C.U.R.E.D. here in the
greater Cincinnati area. I give great regards to Ellyn in
helping us fight for a cure.
